Pawhamas Resort

OMG.what a blessing. Im currently a mama of 3 very special dogs. Ive also been a special needs dog mama for over 15years. I’ve fostered, Ive adopted, Ive rehabilitated, and Ive volunteered to assess facilities and homes for adoption & rescue. Im also a very demanding/annoying pet owner: i dont tolerate health, safety or social hazards. Every one of my expectations was met and surpassed by Pawhamas Resort. One of my dogs, Marley, has such severe early developmental trauma & separation anxiety that he was shut down at the shelter and was on the euth list, and that’s when I pulled him. We’ve had him on prozac for years and have worked with him daily to be able to eat on his own, go on a car ride without trying to jump out of the window, and he can now tolerate a dog walk without losing his lunch. although he’s made headways in basic functioning, my precious little Marley still has separation anxiety and is undone by his young, loud, rambunctious poodle brothers. He’s been rejected by 4-5 of the best daycares in the area, and at least 3 groomers because he gets so worked up and anxious he starts hyperventilating.(so now i groom him at home. he looks like a troll doll) . in an attempt to give him some quiet time at home, without his two young poodle brothers terrorizing him, I decided to try Pawhamas Resort to keep my babies entertained all day while Marley & mama enjoy a bit of quiet. (young poodles yell and play. loudly. and all day.) the person at Pawhamas Resort said “lets try Marley too.” I kind of laughed because “yeah. ok.” i expected her to call me within an hour to come & get my boy. 20 min after dropping off my babies at daycare, I got a video text from Pawhamas Resort- my boys, MY BOYS, playing and flirting with their new human friend at the Resort. My boy Marley was even trying to hold hands with her, which as anyone with a dog knows, is a major trust overture. NO ONE touches Marley’s paws. my boys ended up hanging out at the Pawhamas Resort until 4pm, which makes 6 hours. when i went to pick them up they had just settled down for afternoon quiet nap time. At Pawhamas Resort, the dogs were safe, fully monitored at all times, and were allowed to interact in a structured, safe, supervised environment. As for training, I asked a million questions to ascertain if they use “classical” or aversion/negative reinforcement methods, and Im happy to report they use positive reinforcement with no remote control/electronic shock collars or martingale collars for walks: just evidence based, positive reinforcement training. SO, to say I’m pleased is an understatement-Im actually thrilled; my babies now have somewhere to go to hang out at Pawhamas Resort, and be loved and mama gets to go to work/vacation. Excuse me while I go and book a very long, very overdue dog-free vacation. PHEW!

My dogs spent their first night at Pawhamas and I can say they had a great time and were well taken care of. Thanks to Priscilla and her staff and we will be bringing our dogs back very soon. And they were both groomed and it turned out excellent. Thank you!

Fantastic staff. Our dog was well taken care of great communication while we were gone. We will be using them for all of our upcoming trips in the future. Highest recommendation.

Our good boy Jax has been under the care of Priscilla (business owner) for years. She has always been a huge blessing when it comes to grooming, boarding, or training Jax; truly has a heart of gold, a true animal champion, and demonstrates her passion and commitment through her work every day. Pawhamas is a safe, clean, and trustworthy environment for any dog. The space is complete with private boarding rooms, entertainment, large activity areas, and plenty of other dogs to mingle with (or just hang in your own private space!). The level of transparency and care is truly appreciated. Priscilla takes the time to learn about every dog, their likes/dislikes, behavioral history, dietary restrictions, and anything else to ensure both dog and owner are happy and comfortable. I have peace of mind knowing that when Jax spends his time at Pawhamas, he will be well taken care of, clean, safe, and enjoying his time away from home. No other place has my trust like Pawhamas does - dogs and owners alike are treated with respect and dignity and that level of trust is priceless. Thank you for the years of support with Jax!! 🙏

I’ve taken my dog rocky there several times for 3 to 5 days at a minimum. I would not take him anywhere else. Very clean, trustworthy, and they really care for your dog. Definitely would recommend.
