(from Google)Lots of creepy men out here and people are doing God knows what I come to eat lunch and get stared at and it's a no for me
The park is amazing and well maintained. Good for walking and jogging. Restrooms are clean.
Southern View Community Park in Springfield, Illinois, is a true gem for families and furry friends alike. Taking my children and dog there was an absolute delight. The walkway is beautifully maintained and makes for a perfect stroll, with just the right mix of open spaces and serene views. The scenery is nothing short of stunning—lush greenery and well-kept surroundings create such a peaceful atmosphere. What stood out to me the most was the strong sense of community. Everyone we encountered was friendly and welcoming, which added to the overall charm of the park. Plus, the cleanliness of the space was impressive, making it even more enjoyable to spend time there. It's the kind of place that makes you feel connected to nature and your neighbors—truly a wonderful spot to relax and recharge.
My family loves to come visit the park and fish for bass here. The pond has its good days and bad days, but most of the time if your fishing here you will not leave without a catch, however when the water is low, it does become a little harder to fish.
2 little playgrounds, one for the younger kids and one for bigger kids though both were used by my 2 and 4 year olds. There's a nice little walking trail that goes around the park and passes a quaint pond. Very sunny with few trees for shade.
