Mt Tabor Park Off-Leash Dog Area

My dog and I enjoy this dog park and regularly visit it. However, today on June 3, this individual’s dog, who says he comes here all the time. Well, his dog attacked mine, unprovoked, and absolutely refused to take any accountability. At the time, I didn’t see any injuries on my dog, but I did discover that he does have at least one puncture wound. He was bitten by this dog at least 4 times and my friend’s dog at least three times. This dude stated that because there were no visible injuries his dog did not attack mine (although 6 other people would say otherwise). He also absolutely refused to give us his information. So here’s a warning. I understand the risks dog parks have, but this incident more than likely isn’t this dog’s first time. I state all this as a warning to others. If you see this dog or guy, just leave the park, please. This dog continued to chase mine and wouldn’t stop until someone else pulled his dog off of mine. The behavior from both of them is unacceptable.

Such a great mostly fenced dog park among the trees. My maps took me to the wrong entrance area. Easier to access via lower streets near university. My dog loved romping around here. No benches, loop around trail. A bit hilly so be prepared for that. Nice grassy park next door too.

PROS: -Very spacious with lots of foliage, paths, and trees -Water available -Double gated -A few diff entrances CONS: -Only two spots for water a bit away from the entrance and on the far end of the same side -Not many poo stations NEUTRALS: - Lots of hills - Not fully accessible for those with mobility issues - All sizes mixed - No open area - No grass - Inside another park that includes concrete walking path, kid’s play area, among other things like a pond - Fenced, but not fully with some areas for dogs to go up onto a road area. - Some fencing very short and easy for dogs to jump. - One entrance only has stairs to get in

Best dog park in the city. Hike for you, hike for dogs. Huge area, very shady. There are one or two spots without a fence (one is the entrance coming from Mt Tabor proper) but they are easy to spot and avoid but just be aware. People keep it pretty clean and I haven't had problems with irresponsible owners yet.

Highly recommended dog park to go to for the active type, both two legged and four. This park is fenced, though I must warn you, there are top-outs. The very top of the stairs (mid-park) and at the upper South end of the park are not fenced. If you keep your dog away from these top outs, they will never know. Your puppy will love the many adventurous spots around the park and have a blast playing with all the dogs at the center of the park. During rainy seasons, be prepared for MUD, be prepared for a dog bath! During dry seasons, the canopy of this micro-forest will keep you cool and your loved ones. The trail is fairly easy and the park is so big you can easily walk a mile if you do a couple of laps. All around, a must if you're even considering coming here.
