(from Google)Peaceful wooded area off of the main road. There's parking off of Sundog Ranch Rd (so put in your GPS "Peavine Trailhead" to get to the parking area). There's accessible parking there too. From there, you can walk down to the gravel trail (mostly flat) and you can either go on the side to side trail, or you can continue straight going down some steps that take you to the "forest" area. It's shaded by trees and after about 10 mins of walking, you'll see a small "pond' on your right (not as exciting as I thought). Lots of bicycles there too so make sure to stay alert while walking.
Very beautiful, tranquil setting. Perfect for bird watching and walking through the forest. Also very kid friendly. Trails are very well-maintained and easy to walk.
Easy hike with options for more technical hikes off the main route. Beautiful scenery of Watson Lake through the dells. The geography is in stark difference to the pines and aspens just miles away with a more high desert feel. This a is bike, walker, and horse friendly trail.
Beautiful area. Nice paths and dog friendly.
To enter this trail go to the Watson lake parking area off Prescott Lakes Parkway. The lot is directly across from the Humane Society Bldg on Sun dog ranch road. There's a 3- parking fee, Wednesdays are free. The Watson lake trail is beautiful but at times a bit crowded. This trail however is less traveled, and more remote, especially during periods of high precipitation. I would recommend wearing waterproof boots if you don't mind getting them muddied up. But if you prefer getting more up close and personal with the wildlife and/or looking to find great photo ops, this is your place. Happy Travels 😎
