On Saturday 3/7/2026 I went in to get some dog food. I happened to look at the little chicks and one was just eating the other one & I told the worker and he was not moving quickly to stop the action! I am very disappointed. And on top of that in another bucket that they 25 chicks in one was dead! These works don't care about their chicks! How upsetting.

A family friend of mine, older woman, has 2 large labs. Wanting to try out the pet wash & had a coupon… she feared trying to wrestle 2 dogs herself. Fair… reluctantly I offered to join her, Off we go. The parking lot was clean & store seemed well kept. Once we entered, we asked where the pet wash was located & was directed to the back end of the store. W/ a “back there, in the corner” & an arm/finger point in the general direction. Now, mind you I’ve washed my share of dogs, being a breeder for a time. Yet I’ve never stepped inside a self/pet wash station. Granted obviously you need to get the animal into the “tub” use water, soap… etc. But I was rather surprised when there was not only no one to give any direction… but there wasn’t any type of visible guides or rules for the space. The 1st thing that was glaringly obvious was the complete lack of cleanliness. I’ll mention here that we did arrive at the VERY last minute before the store closed! At the same time there where 0 customers in the store and 3 employees where setting up a type of metal/wire enclosure. Later I find out this is for the chicks… and kids? It’s a thing I guess. Any how, there where 2 stations to wash and 2 seperate stations to Dry. Both tubs look as if they hadn’t been rinsed out at least not that day. So… we each took time attempting to Give them a quick much needed wash/rinse.. between the stations within arm reach generally, was a side board that shared 4 large 1gallon? Jugs. 3 flavors of shampoo and 1 conditioner. All of which needed to be replaced. Unable to access them through the pumps, we unscrewed them, opting for the dump in hand method. *surprisingly each wash tub had restraint loops to limit the animals movement but no leash of sorts, had we known…. Once both dogs were clean but still wet… we concluded that the large bins w the “dirty towels here” Signs… Didn’t help Determine where to find clean towels. Maybe we were suppose to “check it”? And get towels…? Idk. Wouldn’t the employee who was helpful w directions have let us know? I ran off to find an employee. Gathered around prior mentioned corral building chick magnet. One offered to grab a few and meet me back at the wash room. Doing so rather quickly. We towel dry both dogs and shift to the dry station. One of the labs is quite old w hip issues… I found a ramp but I assume only worked for the tubs (which were lower than the dry tables..?) any how… once we turned the driers on, basically shop vacs w the exhaust end used to blow dry… hair went flying all around the room like crazy!!!! You would think Dorothy was about to fall from the sky at any moment! Now I’ve not given a clear list of the issues we came across really. Like the set of brush, comb, nail clippers available for each station that was nasty. Caked w fur, rust on (my set) clippers…+++ Generally this is the type of space I expected, sure. But the cleanliness was… idk I feel as if many people might have walked away repulsed. Generally through the staff was all quite friendly, to us and the dogs. Sadly the coupons didn’t work… idk why but I can say I would return there again… coupon or not personally. It was a REAL disappoint for sure.

Came out of my way to use this particular location for a pretty large order of various food...there were no baskets....I'm disabled and didn't want to walk your lot looking for a basket....I ended up walking your lot anyway for a basket opposed to waisting more of time waiting for staff to respond to a call to get baskets....of course I end up with my foot in a pile of snow...now it's wet and im pissed off and have no desire at all to spend upwards of 2500 with your store today or ever again. Why would you NOT have baskets available at store where most purchases are over 50lbs??? I guess I'll be driving even further out of my way to a real feed store that takes better care of their customers. I bet if I had looked just a little more WHITE there would have been a more prompt response.

Incredible customer service! Brandon and the staff were will to stop everything they were doing, even though they were short staffed. Independence store is a little bit out of the way compared to the lee's summit store but it's worth it for me after this visit!

With customer service being poor, representatives don't know their products, check dates, acknowledge the customers in the store. But Tractor Supply, they greet you all through the store. I buy my pine litter for my cats there and other stuff. Keep up the great environment
