I recently completed the Texas LTC class with Lone Star Pistol Training, and I can confidently say it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. This class went far beyond simply checking a box for licensing and instead delivered real knowledge real confidence and real respect for the responsibility that comes with carrying in Texas. Joe was an exceptional instructor. His teaching style was clear engaging and professional while still being very approachable. He has a deep understanding of Texas law and explained it in a way that was easy to follow even for first time gun owners. Every legal concept was tied to real world situations which made the material stick and feel genuinely useful rather than abstract or overwhelming. The classroom portion was organized thorough and never boring. Joe encouraged questions and made sure everyone understood not just what the law says but why it exists and how it applies in everyday life. He emphasized safe decision making situational awareness and personal responsibility which really set this class apart from others. Overall Lone Star Pistol Training delivers exactly what you would hope for in an LTC course and more. Professional instruction clear communication excellent pacing and a genuine commitment to producing responsible well informed license holders. If you are looking to obtain your LTC in Texas and want a class that is informative respectful and worth your time in the RGV, I cannot recommend this training highly enough.

Awesome experience with instructor Joe. He was very patient and accommodating to fit our schedule. Always had a positive attitude and was very motivating. Great information, and always teaches you to respect the firearm and handle them with the proper technique and care.

I recently took a training class from Lone Star Pistol Training. Joe Calzada was my instructor, and I can't recommend this business and instructor highly enough. He stresses safety and teaches from the ground up. He recognizes bad habits that affect your shooting and corrects them immediately. He is patient, kind, and open to questions. He is also highly trained. If you are looking to improve your shooting, learn about your responsibilities as a gun owner and carrier, get your license to carry, or participate in practice drills, among other things, Lone Star Pistol Traiming is definitely the place to go.

Joe is an amazing teacher, I really enjoyed his beginner gun handling/safety class. I’ve never been excited to handle guns, but he made the experience safe and fun!! I’m already planning my next class with him
