(from Google)Nice place with lots of seating. Bats are out around sunset during the warm months!
Great fishing Spot. Big catfish, alligator gar and plenty of bait.
It's right next to the Rio Grande. Be cautious of the river yet the view is lovely. The bridge nearby has bats so watch out at dusk or dawn; unless ur into that.
Great, free family activity. You can bring your own chairs, but there are rocks you can sit on. Two entrances, one is on south meadow but not exactly sure where. The other entrance is through the Benavides softball complex on Zapata highway one block north of the Loop 20 intersection (by the IBC). Drive down and turn north, head to the back of the complex and follow the hike/bike trail south.
We love this place!! Very calming, great photos, you can go fishing, hiking, ride your bikes and have a great family time.
