Minto-Brown Island Park

This is PHENOMENAL park! Great for walks, bicycle riding, running and gatherings. Though I don't have a dog, there is a large dog field I see lots of people utilizing. It is VERY large with paved and "soft" trails. It can be accessed in 3 different locations. The main entrance on River rd S (as 3 different parking lot locations), Homestead rd further down River rd S has another parking lot, and of course we now have the bridge that can be accessed from Riverfront park. Lots of opportunities to see wildlife, the Homestead section is even considered a wildlife refuge. There are multiple ponds on sloughs throughout the park, a couple creeks and of course the Willamette River boarders a section of the park as well. I've seen barred owls, Rufus/ Anna's/Black chined hummingbirds, cinnamon teal ducks, bufflehead ducks, Blue Herons, American coots, Bald Eagles, Red tailed Hawks and countless other song birds even turtles and wild rabbits.

Favorite off leash, dog park in Salem. So many different trails. Enjoy all the nature and change of seasons perfect for mushroom scavenging.

It was very beautiful except the path I chose. The marsh comes pretty much up to the path and spilt over onto the pathway. I was dumb enough to go through, but could have chosen another path and gone around. Lots of paved trails to walk. Very easy stroll

Huge park perfect for walkers, bicyclists And kayakers in the spring. So many different trails and paved pathways it’s hard to get bored. Small playground and porta potties only.

Easy walks on and near the Willamette River. Paved and gravel trails, some dirt trails but no steep grades. Very pleasant and clean. Dogs welcome on leash and a dedicated area just for dogs to play. (Bring your poop bags.)
