Father Hennepin Bluff Park is a hidden gem along the Mississippi River, offering stunning views of the Stone Arch Bridge and downtown Minneapolis. This park is perfect for a peaceful walk, a picnic, or simply enjoying nature in the heart of the city. The trails are well-maintained and connect to the larger riverfront trail system, making it a great stop for cyclists and joggers. The park’s location near St. Anthony Main adds extra charm—you can easily grab a coffee or bite to eat nearby and then relax by the river. Wildlife sightings, including birds and occasional river otters, make the experience even more enjoyable. Why not five stars? Parking can be limited, and the park is relatively small, so it’s more suited for short visits than full-day outings. Some areas can feel a bit secluded, so daytime visits are recommended for safety. Overall, Father Hennepin Bluff Park is a peaceful urban escape with beautiful river views and easy access to other attractions. If you’re exploring the Minneapolis riverfront, this spot is definitely worth a visit.

I enjoyed walking around here during the day. Not a lot of people during the week nice little pass to explore down to the water and around.

Loved the cityscape of the Heritage Trail. The sky was so blue, the water had a midnight shimmer. Cool to see some historic signs & bridges.

I've seen significant restorations to this area in the past year. I've really come to enjoy walking here, and some minor landscaping on the lower trail would make it even more inviting. The diverse wildlife and scenic views are wonderful.

It was nice but really busy for my liking. But don’t get me wrong it was clean and well kept and nothing bad to say about the park itself. You will need to pay for parking which is fine for me but know they charge by the hour. It was worth checking out once for sure. But I like quieter parks to escape the city life. They even have paths for bikes and paths for walking.
