(from Google)Amazing trail to take the dog on !!! Great little walk to decompress from everyday stress. Summer time the skeeters are definitely a nuisance but that's to be expected being right by Muddy Creek. Have wondered if its safe to walk in the creek to cool off , anybody know quality of water ?
It’s a great trail especially for kids. We went once this spring after a few days of heavy rain and the trail was flooded. We still did the loop and had a blast getting wet! Great year round!
Great trails to walk the dogs awesomeness
We enjoyed this trail but the mosquitoes were so vicious!! Bring bug spray for sure. It was cool in the shade most of the way but had a few sections in open fields. Saw only one other person the whole time. Many portions of the trail are quite narrow and you will brush against plant life, so I'd recommend long pants and hiking boots to stay safe from ticks and also watch out for snakes (as on any trail). Also, many of the bridges for crossing are quite old and have missing pieces of boards, so watch where you step. Park in the visitor center lot and the trailhead is right behind the center's main building. The visitor center was closed but we walked back to see the log cabin and beautiful flowers on the ground.
Great local trail system. Good anytime in fall, winter, and spring. In the summer I would recommend doing it in the morning or evening but beware of the mosquitoes.
