(from Google)Poor surgical experience for my pet. Left me instructions to remove the bandage where his IV had been placed but when I removed bandage we found the catheter/much more bandaging still in place. By then clinic was closed and would be for next few days. I had to call pet 911 who told me the catheter needed to be removed. Took my partner and I over 30 minutes to remove the tape they had applied over it in order to pull out catheter and ripped off all his hairs in the process. After the weekend I called the clinic to ask why it had been left in and the lady I spoke to just said it should not have been but did not apologize for the oversight, which would have gone a long way for us. After paying over 1k for his procedure, we would have hoped to not have to deal with the added stress of either removing it ourselves or stressing about the infection risk by leaving it in place for 3 days to take him back to the clinic which is located over an hour away from us. I attached a photo of what one piece of tape looked like after removal, but there were many more layers of tape and ripped hairs involved. The people at this clinic are usually kind but we were very disappointed with this experience.
I’m very disappointed with the way I was treated at this clinic. I came in simply trying to be proactive about my pets’ health and purchase another 6‑month box of flea preventative. I’m currently 5 months into my existing box, but as a federal employee who just endured the longest government shutdown and is preparing for another, I wanted to buy ahead of time so I wouldn’t have to worry about my pets’ preventative care costs next month. Instead of being helped, I was accused of “sharing medication” and told I couldn’t purchase another box unless I brought in additional dogs. What made this even more upsetting is that the other dogs on my account have recently passed away, so the assumption was not only wrong but insensitive. Customers should not be treated with suspicion when they are simply trying to plan responsibly for their pets. Policies should be explained clearly and respectfully, not with presumptions or accusations. I left feeling frustrated and unwelcome, which is the last thing anyone wants when seeking care for their animals.
We recently brought our Labrador Retriever in for preventative care and had an outstanding experience from start to finish. The clinic is easy to find with ample parking and beautifully maintained grounds. Inside, the spacious waiting area was spotless, and the receptionist greeted us with warmth, professionalism, and genuine attentiveness. Wait times were minimal, and every staff member—from the techs to the veterinarian—was impeccably groomed, highly communicative, and truly listened to our concerns. The doctor took time to explain everything clearly and answer all our questions. We especially appreciated the convenient pet food and supplement shop right in the waiting area. We arrived at 10 a.m. and were heading home by noon, feeling confident in the care our dog received. Highly recommend this clinic for anyone seeking top-notch veterinary service! 🐾
I don't think I could ever express how grateful I am to Dr Dan and his staff. I took my 9 year old cat, Oliver, in as an emergency 3weeks ago and from the moment we walked in that door they were great. The Front desk, techs and Dr Dan were so kind, compassionate and patient, even with my million questions and calls. Today, after a week in the hospital and Dr doing everything he possibly could for my baby, we made the decision that it was time to give him rest. It was one of the hardest, most heart breaking things I've ever had to do in my life. Dr. Dan allowed us to spend time with him in the back before moving him to a room. He stayed with us through the whole process and explained every step. He didn't rush us to leave, he even let us tell a few stories about Oliver and his antics. He gave us his pawprint. Then he made the arrangements for him to be cremated. Although the ending was not what any of us wanted, i have zero complaints about anyone there. If I didn't live in Harlingen, this would be my vet for my 4 other cats(plus10 strays) and 3 dogs. Again, thank you to everyone at EMVC.
this is my honest and truthful review I never leave reviews but the way I was treated I will never forget I walked in with my dog and left without him all because of their doing I went in because my dog was bleeding I went asked if I could sit inside and they didn’t allow me instead in the cold and rain threw me to where the horses go I sat outside for 4 hours as my dog started to get worse and worse my biggest mistake was waiting I asked multiple times for help and instead was told just a few more and it’s your turn the worse part is the workers saw me alone outside for hours and couldn’t even say hey are you okay? anything nothing it was freezing. My dog is gone I can’t even get out of bed or work or anything I just wish they would of helped more I was given the choice put him to sleep or take him home he was so cold and weak I made the decision to put him to sleep I didn’t get to hold my baby and worse part is they messed up when putting him down they pushed only half of the medication because they “couldn’t find a vein” ??? how if you had the needle is in his arm he was sitting there gasping for air and scared I knew right there and then I would never go to that vet clinic again my dog struggled so hard when it’s not suppose to be like that. I asked multiple times please let me hold my baby and even after him passing away I was only allowed 2 mins before they said I needed to leave to clear space for someone else. It breaks me everyday knowing how they treated me I would never wish this to happen to someone else stay away if your fur baby is really sick. The first two photos are proof how how they left us in the horse area I had to try my best to cover him up still he got too sick from the cold. Last photo is of my sweet angel rest in peace my love 🐾🩷
