(from Google)The dogs are alot more friendly then the people. The homeless people along the trail treat you better than the owners in the park. They let there dogs crap anywhere and just leave it. Great job people
Nice little area. The community who comes here keeps the park nice
Challenger "Park" is just a stretch of land that runs outside of Graceland Cemetery, beneath a very loud elevated train. This "dog friendly area" is a sad, small slab of concrete surrounded by wire fence, with all the charm of a prison yard. It is embarrassing and depressing that this is what Chicago provides for its dogs.
Very artist area great for the pooch and a lovely art walk to see the Art panels along the cemetery.
We've been twice now and our pup loves it. At first it's odd because it's right next to the train but it's wonderful. The other dogs are friendly and playful. Most humans have been friendly too and understanding of our little jumper. The water fountain helps out a lot. They have pools on hot days and a hose that you can use to fill them up if you want and your dog likes that sort of thing. People are really pretty great at taking care of the park so everyone can enjoy.
