Evelyn Hallman Park

The trees are so cool in this park, and of course the waterways as you walk through the park.

This is a hidden gem within Tempe. It is a part of Papago Park where the Phoenix Zoo and Desert Botanic Garden are located.

I am here several days a week. I start on the Crosscut Canal path in Old Town Scottsdale and ride the 5+ miles to Hallman Park. With its slight elevation sunrises here are often time spectacular and are a reward for waking so early to get in my ride before the Sun hits me with the full force we see in the desert. The park has its moments if traffic. But never overwhelming as there are two choices for paths. One paved one not. The paths are on opposite sides of the canal with bridges every so often. I love coming here.

An oasis in the desert! Lovely place to take a calm and peaceful walk around the duck pond. Plenty of bird-watching to be had here. Bike trails are full of friendly and cautious bikers. For each rule the park has, there are at least two signs for it throughout the park.

Great place to hang out or walk your dog. Trails and sidewalks to hike, bike, or just walk. There are a couple of ponds, both good for fishing. The canal is really close, so you can also include that in your trip. We brought a lunch and ate under the covered picnic area. Restrooms are available and clean.
