**Carolina Mountain Trail – NC Arboretum** Solid, short-but-sweet 1.8-mile loop. Steady climb (about 400 ft gain) through pretty hardwood forest and rhododendron tunnels. Rewarded with excellent Blue Ridge views at the upper overlook. Trail is well-marked, nicely maintained, and rarely crowded. Dog-friendly, good for families or a quick leg-stretcher. 45–60 minutes round-trip. One of the Arboretum’s best quick hikes! ⭐⭐⭐⭐½
