Our first visit, food was superb, with a straightforward menu that delivered. The service was top-notch, by friendly and attentive staff. The owner took the time to chat with us, which enhanced our experience. Although it was busy, the live band created a vibrant atmosphere. We plan to return and enjoy more live music.
New bar/lounge in town. Was greeted by the owner with a warm and friendly welcome! This location finally has great service, good food and is also family oriented. Not much more to ask for. Check it out!
The Backyard Sports Lounge truly delivered an unforgettable experience. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the level of respect shown to everyone in the room was outstanding. They graciously allowed my friend and fellow DJ, DJ M.C.E.D., to celebrate the life of DJ Eighty 8—a talented producer and DJ, and beloved son of DJ M.C.E.D.—with dignity, style, and heart. H.H.G. Entertainment was honored to be in the building to pay tribute and support such a meaningful night. The staff and management showed genuine care, professionalism, and respect throughout the evening. Service was exceptional, and the energy stayed strong as a lineup of high-powered DJs delivered their own unique sets all the way until closing. Thank you, The Backyard Sports Lounge, for providing a space that honored legacy, community, and music the right way. Much respect.
Decided to visit the backyard sports lounge after seeing a social media post and knowing what the bar used to be back when it was called lazy dog many years ago. Went in to see multiple TVs most running the CU Buffs game, which makes sense. After sitting at the bar for about five minutes, I was finally greeted by my server/bartender, Breezy. She asked what I was drinking and I responded by saying “what do you have on draft?” She responded that they didn’t have any draft lines. Surprised, I asked for a Blue Moon and received it quickly with a follow up if I wanted anything to eat. I was brought a paper menu with food on it. I mean ACTUAL food on it (I think it was queso). So, I decided on a simple hatch chili cheeseburger and fries, but my decision wouldn’t be executed on for another 15 minutes as I was essentially ignored (which is impressive considering there were probably only 10 people at the bar top and two bartenders). She did come around and take my order though. At that point, I’d finished my beer and decided to order an Old Fashioned. She asked if Bulleit was okay because “that’s all we have”. I said sure. I watched her make the drink and saw her shaking the drink, which, I’m no bartender, but pretty sure that’s not how you make an Old Fashioned. My food came out and while it wasn’t terrible, it wasn’t nothing to write home about either. I had specifically asked for no tomato, lettuce, onion pickle, and my burger did come with onion on it but no big deal just took it off. While I was eating, Breezy came up and said “I’m not rushing you but I’m clocking out soon.” So I took that as meaning I needed to pay and noticing that the receipt she brought me had a QR code on it I decided to pay right then and there. A few minutes later, she came up to me again and told me again that she was about ready to clock out and if I needed anything else or if I was ready to pay. I told her that I already paid on the QR code. After she left, I was greeted by I believe her name was Fiona. She asked me if everything was good and I informed her that while I had already paid, I was not impressed with And that it was more like watered down bourbon (which after one taste, I decided not to drink). This bartender casually responded that “oh she probably shook it” to which I agreed. No attempt to correct via refund or at least offer to make it correctly. And that’s that. Take it as you will. Gave a new bar in the community a chance, but I won’t be back. Best of luck to them.
