(from Google)I love Standard Park it has everything you've ever needed in a park dog friendly, restrooms Play ground for the kids, covered picnic tables, barbeque grills and lots of tree's
On one of the bigger slides, the bottom is broken. Just be careful.
Standard Park is tucked away between Manor, Norris & N. Chester, behind Standard Elementary & Standard Middle School )off Minner). It has quite a large grassy area & 1 soccer post, a basketball court on one side with restrooms & then a baseball field, playground & picnic area on the other side. Halfway there is another set of restrooms bit those were locked up. It was peaceful & clean there while we were there for a birthday party. My only complaint was the crunchy grass on the far side near the school & a few or those stickers that poke your toe of you're barefoot. Aside from that, I highly recommend this park for a variety of sports, walking the whole park or just some family time.
It was pretty nice. Not to bad today some broken glass and cigarette butts. Only saw two people shooting up outside the bathrooms today.
This park is a very old, historic part of Bakersfield, and though it's located in Oildale, it's quite lovely for a town park. There is a playground for kiddies, a couple courts, and a baseball field. It also has a concrete walk path that meanders through it.
