We were extremely pleased with our experience at New Tampa Pet Resort. We could tell our dog was lovingly cared for and I appreciated all of the communication while we were out of town. In all of the pictures we received during our dog’s stay it looked as though he were truly smiling and enjoying his time there!

I am beyond devastated writing this, but people need to know about our experience at New Tampa Pet Resort We boarded our 5-year-old German Shepherd Amiri at New Tampa Pet Resort for a little over a week. The day before boarding him, he had a full veterinary checkup and was completely healthy, weighing 115 pounds. During his stay, we received daily reports saying he was eating well and doing fine. It’s a joy to have him, he’s very playful. There were no warnings, no concerns, nothing that would have prepared us for what happened next. Near the end of his stay, we received a call to pick him up right away, he was very lethargic and dehydrated and needed to see a veterinarian. He died  within 24 hours of picking him up. Our healthy dog lost 12 pounds in just 9 days. No one from the facility ever gave us a clear explanation of what happened. We were told a manager would call us — that call never came. We reached out, looking for answers, accountability, anything… and got nothing. This wasn’t even our first concerning incident. During a previous stay, we were called because he had cut his paw badly enough to require a vet visit, costing us $700. Even then, we chose to give them another chance because they were one of the few places that would accept him since he was not neutered. That decision will haunt us forever. He wasn’t just a dog — he was part of our family. A strong, beautiful German Shepherd who had just turned five years old. He trusted us to keep him safe, and we trusted this facility to care for him. That trust was completely broken. We are heartbroken, angry, and searching for answers we may never receive. If you love your pet like family, please think very carefully before boarding them here.

Run do not walk away from this place. We received our puppy back with a bald spot on her coat and a flaming ear infection after being here for the week while we traveled. We took her to the vet and was told it looks like some type of burn from heat or chemical. We were never able to get an answer on what was done to her and no help at all. They do not care. Please spare your fur babies we felt so horrible for leaving her here 😭 Im adding photos from when she was there and then after pick up. No one ever got back to me as they said or called.

My pup and I absolutely love this place! It’s safe, clean, and fun. The staff are friendly, and it is a very well run business. My pup loves going and typically does not want to leave all the fun. I love that the pups get to play all day if they want—no kenne. I also love that they have a pool. I cannot say enough great things about this place. I highly recommend it! You cannot beat that $99/mo special!

We have been using NTPR since 2012 (obviously not the same dogs). We have used them from puppies at 4 months old to even as seniors till 9 years old. Multiple dogs and numerous pictures and happy, exhausted pups for almost 15 years. We have never used any other daycare and even drive out of our way from Wesley Chapel to Lutz for them to play. Bella in the pics is on a recent event day of snuffle mats for a nominal fee and you get adorable pups and them not wanting to come home. Our Bella goes mostly MWF to literally hang out with her friends and love of her life, Jackson, an older black lab that she adores. The dogs are not aggressive or they don’t get playgroup, so safety is never a concern for us. The pups get to go swimming in this beautiful underground, slopped pool that goes from an inch of water to 4 feet for those that like to do laps like our other dog Spanky. Bella likes to splash in the shallow end! It’s also a salt water pool so safe for your dogs. Being fond of goldens and their high energy level this daycare provides lots of interaction and a couple of event days a month that is well worth the small fee. We are never worried when our dogs are at daycare or even boarded there. They are exceptionally clean and the staff love what they do. They are all amazing individuals and get to know your dog and you personally. I don’t know why I haven’t written many exceptional reviews on them as they do so much for us and our doggie family throughout the years. I hope you consider them for either puppy daycare to when they graduate to adult daycare. We also have a reactive dog we board there that gets private play sessions. They will not disappoint you. They even have $10 dollar off for Wednesday bath days. Bella is in her terrible two’s right now as a golden and likes to get dirty and roll in poop at home. Silly girl…we know, but have two more years of her craziness as a field golden at 2. So she is in for bath day now almost every Wednesday and comes home beautifully clean and brushed out. Expect to pick up a happy, tired and maybe wet dog as their pool is the best in the greater Tampa Bay Area. Choose them for peace of mind as none of our dogs have ever been injured or sick from there even over a decade and a half later. We have daycare budgeted as a monthly bill and they have several package options or even unlimited if you are able to drop them off each day. They also have half days if you don’t want to be away too long from your pup. We do the 20 session package for full days 3x per week and it’s less than $30 a full day and lasts us 6 weeks. We would love unlimited for its cost effective days, but are too far to make it each day. Bella would love that though while we work, but options that fit any lifestyle, Thank you NTPR staff from the front desk, grooming to her amazing play humans in the play yard. She knows her daycare days somehow and even the way to NTPR versus the vet. As soon as we make the turn going in the opposite direction of the vet she lays down and sleeps till we turn left into the parking lot. A tired, exercised, enriched, and brain stimulated dog at any age is a happy dog!
