(from Google)Part of what makes Hillsborough so wonderful - RiverWalk is a wonderfully accessible set of trails along the Eno river, and within walking distance of all of Hillsborough. Gently sloping trails, many of them paved so bikes and strollers and wheelchairs are no problem. One of the great annual events is the winder solstice lantern walk where hundreds of locals move silently along the trails carrying paper lanterns they've crafted in the weeks prior. This is the Hilzbro vibe!
Riverwalk was beautiful and loved all the art! Easy walk with all the wooden boardwalks.
Really well maintained place for running, walking, and leisurely strolling. The homage paid to the Natives and historic Black communities is really important. There are multiple signs describing the history of Hillsborough all along the river walk. The end of the river walk leads to the old speedway track, where folks can get their miles in too. The area is generally safe to walk or run on one’s own.
A very nice walk trail about 1.6mile one way giving you a little more than 3mile of good walk.. Heavily traffic with joggers and pet dogs.. clean and lots of rest place for some needing a rest.
Great wooded trail along river, great for hot summer days.
