(from Google)Im giving this 2 stars because this place is way too small to be a pet store carrying these many animals especially that need extra care. I really dont mean to be that person but it doesn’t feel right with me, im sure im not the only one. The animals seem to always be in cages throughout the day waiting to be purchased. Dont shop, please adopt.
Great pet shop!! If you don’t see what you are looking for just ask. I was able to get exactly what I needed, the process was efficient and I’ll definitely be a return customer. I have always had fantastic customer service at 88 Pet World.
If I could give a 0 I would. Absolutely terrible experience. Every single fish we bought from 88 Pet World died within less than a week. Even worse, the fish we purchased introduced parasites into our previously healthy aquarium, which ended up killing everything in the tank. I have videos and pictures clearly showing the parasites moving around the tank after introducing the new fish – proof of the contamination caused by this store’s livestock. It’s clear that the animals at this store are not well taken care of. Many looked sickly, stressed, or completely neglected. This kind of disregard for animal welfare is unacceptable. We will never be back, and I would strongly warn others against buying any animals from this place. Save yourself the heartbreak and money – go elsewhere.
We have been going to 88 Pet World for years! When it comes to their selection of live fish, no one else in the area can compare. They offer live feeders for reptiles as well! The staff is always super nice, and super knowledgeable, and the amount of care they give their animals is refreshing (unlike big box stores). Love them!
PET OWNERS BEWARE! Store is dingy and dirty. Carpet looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in 30 years and who I assume is the owner of the store, older gentleman, is extremely rude and seems like any question asked is an inconvenience. They keep their rats and mice in these cramped dirty glass tanks with multiple cracks in said glass that reek of ammonia which I can only assume adds to the many health issues I’ve seen displayed. Their rats and mice all look sickly and lethargic. Just because they’re sold as “feeders” does not mean you can give them a worse quality of life. For a pet store that prides itself on exceptional animal care, I’m disappointed. Not to mention the tiny cages they keep the animals in. The animals barely have any room to move around and sit in their own poo and pee all day. The rabbits look depressed and the ferrets sleep in their litter pans instead of the hammocks, though most of the hammocks are old and tattered. The betta wall was horrendous, the fish seem to either all be dead or dealing with some form of fin rot. Some products look like they have been on the shelf for literal years, showing signs of wear and tear and overall everything is 15-20% more expensive than Petsmart or Petco. Why would I pay $20 for rat food when I can just get the same brand at petsmart for $12! As for the reptiles, I don’t even know where to start. They use reptile carpet and any fellow reptile owner who cares about their animals would know that reptile carpet can be dangerous due to how often lizard claws get stuck. The tanks look filthy, full of droppings and dead insects and some tanks are so barren and empty that some of the snakes have to burrow under their water dishes because there are no hides.
