I brought my dog in for blood in his urine. They didn’t have exam rooms or a waiting room. They took my dog in gave him a vaccination and stool test without my consent. I didn’t bring him there for that. Very unprofessional the vet wanted my credit card without telling me how much the bill was. I did get antibiotics and inflammation meds. I could of given him the vaccine for $17 instead of $63!! And they can’t afford a waiting room or exam rooms??????

I called Emerywood Veterinary Hospital hoping to in-process my pet as a new client after recently moving to the area. Unfortunately, my experience was incredibly disappointing. The woman who answered the phone abruptly told me, "We're not accepting any more clients," and then immediately hung up-no explanation, no courtesy, just a cold response and a hang-up. As someone trying to establish care for my pet, I expected at least a basic level of professionalism and kindness. This lack of customer service left a very poor impression. If this is how they handle prospective clients, I worry about the quality of care and communication existing clients might receive.

I don’t normally leave reviews, but I felt really dismissed and disrespected here. I brought in my cat—who I’ve had since I was 10—for the first time in a while because his litter had started to smell like maple syrup. After researching, I learned this could indicate a urinary issue, and I wanted to be proactive. I’m a full-time college student trying my best to take care of him on a tight budget. I didn’t realize this clinic still does curbside only, which feels outdated at this point (it’s 2025). My cat is an indoor cat, very attached to me, and not comfortable around strangers. I let them know he was very stressed, and when they brought him back out, the older woman who handled him described the experience as a “bloodbath” and told me nothing could be done unless I could pay for anesthesia—which I can’t afford. What really bothered me was how condescending the conversation felt. I was made to feel like I had overreacted by bringing him in just because of the smell, even though I was following advice from reputable sources and trusting professionals to help me assess the situation. I came looking for care, not to be talked down to. Veterinary staff should be trained and equipped to handle anxious pets, especially cats, and they should never make owners feel embarrassed for trying to do the right thing. If you’re looking for kindness, understanding, or even basic professionalism, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.

We absolutely love Dr. Beck! He truly cares about your babies, goes above and beyond. You just don’t find them like him anymore!
