(from Google)It's ideal for adventurers who enjoy exploring off-the-beaten-path locations. Inside the cave, there's space to go in and cool off.
That area is not suitable for swimming, no matter how beautiful it may seem. You have to be very careful on the beaches you visit... just a word of advice.
Hidden cave... You can enjoy it depending on the waves. 😉
30-60 minute round trip on path I chose. Wear good shoes or hiking sandals as you will navigate sharp volcanic rock much of the time. I entered in the trail behind the blue garbage barrels (not the left path along rocks). This path leads directly over the small peninsula to the ocean. From the other side I walked counter-clockwise along the cliffs and vegetation. You can follow the rocks all the way around to fishing point if you don’t mind navigating the volcanic rock. I enjoyed total privacy and watching crabs hiding on the cliffs.
The trail is easy to find from the beach and is easy to follow. It is pretty short. After about 5-10 minutes walking, you will come to a fork. If you take the left fork, you will come out on the rocky western edge that faces the beach. People like to fish there. Continue a little farther and you will come out to a rocky area with thousands of little hermit crabs (watch where you step!). It is beautiful and at low tide you will be able to see more of the rocky homes for the hermit crabs. If you take the right fork, you will come out on a bit of a small field on the eastern part of the little peninsula. We went during the rainy season (November) and it was basically a field of mosquitos! As soon as we set foot out of the jungle area into the field, we were attacked by the mosquitos. I think we spend 20-30 seconds there and I ended up with over 50 bites on my legs alone. It was like that scene from African Queen where Bogart covers Hepburn with the blanket to avoid mosquitos. So, be warned! There were far fewer mosquitos on the other side.
