Emma Long Metropolitan Park

This was the first time visiting and we enjoyed ourselves. We will visit here again. Monday thru Friday, they charge $5 and Saturday & Sunday they charge $10 to park. There is no re entry and you receive a receipt that you display on your dashboard. Although we did not swim in the lake, it is permissible (At your own risk). They have restrooms and port o potty available for use. They also offer RV parking, Tent camping, and many nature trails to explore. It is a serene place to take the kiddos or the whole family...DOGS too for fun! They have benches and tables throughout for those who wish to have picnics, volleyball nets (sand included) for your entertainment and you can take your boats, jyajs and canoes.

A charming park area for camping and relaxing by the lake. The campsite we booked was nicely flat with a spigot and grill nearby and the surrounding area was peaceful. Bathrooms are clean. It’s fun to watch the 20+ deer that come out in the evening. Watch out for ants and bring bug spray for your car tires.

This park was a great place to visit with the family. We spent time at the small sandy beach, and the shallow water made it perfect for them to enjoy playing in the water and sand. The park also had clean restrooms and picnic tables.

Emma Long Metropolitan Park is one of the best places in Austin to get outdoors without feeling like you’re stuck in the middle of the city. The views are beautiful, the park is huge, and it’s the kind of spot where you can actually breathe and reset. I went out for a day trip and spent time walking the shoreline, hanging by the water, and driving through the park to check out different areas. It’s great for a laid back picnic, a chill swim day, or just getting some sun with a view of Lake Austin. The vibe is relaxed and family friendly, and there’s plenty of space so it doesn’t feel packed like some other parks. A couple tips that will make your visit way better. Go earlier if you can, especially on weekends. Bring water, sunscreen, and bug spray. If you’re planning to get in the water, water shoes help because some areas are rocky. If you want a scenic Austin park day with real space, water access, and great views, Emma Long is a solid move.

A. Well-maintained public access point to lake Austin. Whether it's for the day or the weekend, malong offers relaxing views in a natural environment. Lake Austin doesn't have a no wake rule, which has pluses and minuses. It means you can have jet skis delivered to your camp spot on the water and it means as a swimmer you have to be a little bit more cautious. I felt safe the whole time. I was swimming and it felt like the boats and other water goers were very sure to give swimmers a wide berth.
