Our family visited this trail today and really enjoyed it. The path is mostly flat and well-paved, which made for an easy and comfortable walk. It’s a pretty long trail, we ended up walking about 3 miles, but it never felt too difficult or overwhelming. One of the highlights was walking over the bridge, which added a nice change of scenery along the way. Overall, it’s a great spot if you’re looking for a relaxing walk or something low-impact. Definitely a good option for all fitness levels!

🚴‍♀️ Shelby Bottoms Greenway – A Cyclist’s Urban Escape If you're looking for a peaceful ride with a touch of adventure, Shelby Bottoms Greenway is a hidden gem in East Nashville. The paved trail is smooth and well-maintained, making it perfect for cyclists of all levels from casual weekend riders to serious road warriors. What makes this trail extra special is its connection to Cornelia Fort Airpark at Shelby Bottoms a wide-open, historic airfield turned public park. It’s a unique detour that adds a sense of space and nostalgia to your ride. The entry point is tucked away but easy to find once you know where to look. 🌳 The greenway winds through lush woods, open fields, and along the Cumberland River, offering plenty of scenic spots to pause and soak in the view. Wildlife sightings are common—think deer, turtles, and the occasional heron—so keep your eyes peeled. 🚻 Amenities like restrooms, water fountains, and shaded benches are thoughtfully placed along the route, and there’s ample parking at the trailhead. Whether you're cycling, walking, or just out for a breath of fresh air, Shelby Bottoms delivers a refreshing slice of Nashville’s natural beauty.

Good afternoon walking path with so much to offer! This was a great riverside walk, but don't expect to see too much of the river. There are a few portions of the path that overlook the river, but for the most part it is relatively wooded. There are plenty of other walkers, runners, bikers and skaters which makes the path feel safe. I would highly recommend if you are out to get some fresh air, this is a very easy and flat walking path so nothing too hard.

Boy has this place changed!? It's so much more beautiful than when I last seen it (when I was bratty) it's truly a place to explore and sight see, get a nice walk in the day, bamboos growing and many rivers with rocks.. Surly I thought of land slides but it has such character that it feels like a movie.
