Polka Dot Dogs

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Polka Dot Boarding. I went to drop off my dog for a scheduled boarding stay, and at the moment of drop-off I was informed that he was due for his rabies vaccine. This was never mentioned to me when I called a few days earlier to make the reservation. Had I been informed at that time, I would have made the necessary arrangements. Instead, I was told this at the last minute right when I needed to head to the airport after work. I had no one else available to care for my dog, which put me in a very stressful and unfair situation. I also explained that my dog already has a wellness appointment scheduled in two weeks, and until that visit he cannot receive the rabies vaccine. Despite being a long-term client, there was no flexibility or prior communication regarding this requirement. After years of bringing my dog here, this experience has completely changed my trust in their professionalism and communication. I will not be bringing my dog back, and I would not recommend anyone in The Heights to go through this same situation. Very disappointing experience.

In the last 4 times I have left my dog at Polka Dot, he's come back with kennel cough twice, and come back with serious bites twice. I probably have been more complacent than I should have and stopped taking my dog there earlier. This last time, I reached out to PD to get an explanation of what happened to my dog, and was told I would be reached out to, but never was. I had been using Polka Dots for a few years, but it's definitely different than it was not too long ago. We will never be coming back to Polka Dot, nor would I recommend anybody bringing their dog here.

This is a fantastic place to kennel your dog. My puppy was always nervous when I kenneled him at his vet and then he usually came home with the hershey squirts. Well this doesn't happen anymore now that he makes overnight stays at Polka Dots. He even gets excited when we arrive and wash his tail when he gets checked in. I can't say enough good things about this place.

Our dog loves this place, we take him every week and the staff knows him by name and is always happy to see him. Best of all, he comes home and sleeps the rest of the night and next day! It’s so great to have a place where he can play with other dogs all day long and I love that they sort dogs by temperament so that he can be with other high energy dogs.

They took great care of my 16-year old dog, Sister Prudence. They kept her from the regular dog population because she had mobility and balance issues. They loved her in her final months.
