(from Google)Stopped in for a drink and brief social with friends after a group of us took in a musical performance at the Palomar Performing Arts. First time visit at Churchill's Pub. Great atmosphere!
Came here for my fiancé's birthday. There were a lot of cars in the parking lot, so I thought the place would be packed. But I can't tell if most people were just in the bar area - we were able to get a booth! The place was nice and loud since every one was having a good time. Several parties of 3+ and I saw 1 party of 6. They were doing an explorer menu from Yucatan. Interesting thing to do during Black History Month - I won't lie. I was surprised to see it. But we ordered from that menu. We ordered the fried plantain that came with a sauce and cilantro, sausage and pepper soup, and the BBQ pork. I enjoyed everything except for the plantain. They were basically a huge disc that was slightly crunchy. I was not expecting that since if I want a crunchy plantain, I will eat actual plantain chips. The soup was fantastic! It was a bit spicy but not overwhelming and full of flavor. Wish I ordered a bowl instead of a cup. And last but not least, the BBQ pork was very good. Served on lettuce as well, so if you are doing keto you can omit eating the tortillas that came with the dish. It also had pickled red onions and a salsa. The salsa was mild and with everything in the taco, flavors were balanced. We also ordered 6 Cajun wings. But today, they didn't seem as flavorful, a pity really. A grilled cheese was ordered but with hamburger meat inside. That seemed good and it came with fries. Washed all of this down with a sour that was called Boozy Berry & my fiancé had a West Coast beer. Food was enjoyable, atmosphere was fun. We will be back again.
I’ve been coming to Churchills for about 10 years, and this place is always amazing. The wings, fish and chips, and tots have always been staples for me, and the staff is consistently so friendly and welcoming. Ashley in particular (blonde hair and always wearing a hat) is awesome and makes every visit better. She is always so friendly and caring. She’s even saved my life once as a type one diabetic quickly bringing me orange juice as my sugar was rapidly dropping. That said, I’m really bummed the tots were discontinued—it just isn’t the same without them. Please bring the tots back and you’ll make me (and a lot of other regulars) very happy. #bringbackthattots
Amazing service and staff. I always enjoy seeing the familiar faces here and everyone plays their role perfectly. I’ve been coming for a while, and the IVAN’s Revenge wings used to be a staple for me. Unfortunately, on my most recent visit the recipe had completely changed. Some longtime favorites like the tater tots and bangers and mash are also gone, which was disappointing. The burger I ordered fell apart as I ate it. We still cleaned our plates, but overall the food just isn’t hitting the way it used to.
5 stars for their Prime Dip Melt, which was soooo delicious and a fun place to come hang out. There were no fatty or hard pieces at all, and it was easy to eat and take bites. Also, the bread had this garlic buttery seasoning on top with a nice crunch. I’ve been here a few times with friends and coworkers. I ordered their fish and chips, which was pretty good, but this sandwich was much better than I had expected or anticipated. The au jus sauce was a little salty—but that's normally how I like it—and it was much more flavorful than others I’ve tasted. I like to come here, play darts, and grab a drink. Sometimes it’s really packed, but if you come earlier on, it’s not too bad.
