(from Google)Very nice (short) walk for the family and kids. It’s only about a half mile loop but it’s smooth and flat, and you might just catch a glimpse of of some deer!
SAT 2025.08.09 ~07:10 while i was on my way to Flat Branch Creek, i came by the Reserve for a walk - it was nice and clean. Some bird singings, saw no other person. Enjoyed the ~15 mins of sweet solitude 👍
Very short trail at .4 miles, about an 8 min walk, but we were surprised at the wildlife that still inhabit this small section. We saw a few deer, some squirrels and several species of birds. It was sad to be surrounded by all the natural beauty, but hear the noise pollution of traffic close by.
This compact park in located in Charlotte, near the towns of Matthews, Weddington and Pineville. The trail is about 1/2 mile in length and is one of Mecklenburg counties several nature preserves. The boardwalk will lead you into the Stone Creek Ranch community but hang a right before the bridge and you’ll enter onto the short wooded trail that circles the park. Private, lots of weekend visitors on so plan ahead before heading out. There’s about 15 parking spots available for guests and a picnic shelter next to the clean and well kept restrooms. Park is directly across the street from Polo Ridge Elementary and Flat Branch Park.
Pretty nice trail. Very short, though really nicely done. Perfect if you're looking for somewhere to walk a dog. This location has several picnic tables, ample parking, water fountains, and bathrooms.
