Petland Hoffman Estates

It’s a great place. However, they have birds and other animals in an open enclosure and kids freely able to grab them. They handle them roughly and parents don’t even care. Employees do tell them not to but kids will still grab the poor animals. Chasing the birds around the enclosure, picking them up and stressing the poor animals. It’s a really huge problem. This shouldn’t be a petting zoo. If they want to continue this practice they should at least have an employee watching over the interactions at all times. Borderline animal abuse. I hope they switch this aspect and maybe I’ll switch my review. The aquarium side was fantastic and the person who helped us with our fish was very well informed and helpful.

Love the aquarium selection! We've bought quite a bit from here and they're always healthy! (Not a fan of puppy sales and open tanks where kids can reach and grab though)

Went here recently with some fish concerns and was helped by a guy named Jake. He was highly educated and knew exactly what was right for our fish. Even called later to ask for questions and he was there to answer and walk me through everything needed. Very professional and nice atmosphere there! Will be coming back he deserves a raise!

Great pet and aquarium store in Chicago suburbs. Huge variety of pets and accessories. I think they have the largest variety of fishes and reptiles. Their staff were very knowledgeable and went beyond their roles to help us get a pet and all the accessories. Prices are also reasonable compared to other pet stores. Lots of parking in the strip mall.

I'm not the person to write a review but I was very disappointed when I went there. I been going to petland and aquarium adventures since they open. I haven't been there for a year. I went in there this weekend to see how it was. I can't believe how bad this place became. There was nothing on the shelves on both sides. The store was disgusting. You can tell that kids run the store than adults. The fish side was horrible. The fish tanks don't even look cleaned. The employees just stand around and do nothing. One of them was on the phone while working. How is this allow???? This place need re make over or shut down. Don't hesitate to go in the store and go somewhere else.
