(from Google)Great loop trail near the river. It gets muddy after the rain. Possibly under water after a severe storm.
Easy wide trail to the river. My wife, I and our 3 collies were going to start where the trail begins by the bridge. However, a group of men were there standing around and one man had a dog NOT ON A LEASH. We always feel that this is unsafe!! We have been attacked by unleashed dogs in the past! Still in our car, we turned back and started at the other entrance. About 50 feet into the trail There too was a man with an UNLEASHED DOG!! But since we had already started we continued. Our dogs though sweet collies can be unpredictable, depending on the attitude of the other dog. Scared, frightened, threatening or whatever even for a second can turn a dog aggressive, the dog only wants to defend it’s pack. There should be a sign at every trail head “Dogs must be on no more than 6 ‘ lead” Please leash your dog! UPDATE: We (my wife and 3 collies) returned here after about a year. All the dogs we saw were on leashes. We were glad! Interesting hike to ruins of the pump house. The trail is quite technical (bumpy and not level) in some areas. But the dogs loved it!
Very pleasant easy walk. 80 degree day but under the tree canopy it was very nice. Limited parking but was not crowded weekday afternoon.
A great park for kids! Beautiful wooded area - and not too crowded. A short hike, wide trails and easy to follow path along the river. The water is also shallow and great for kids to play in! Parking is limited along the side of the road. Takes about about 10 minutes to get to the river, and you can either Continue on a longer loop or turn around.
Great trail for kids. Penalty of space and access to beautiful creek spaces. Plenty of side street parking. Great day hiking trail.
