Since the changes they made it is a very different quarry now. The only thing from outside that you do not have to pay for is your personal kayak. I would give it a 5 star if you were allowed to still bring in your own gear and play low volume music.

This Park has changed in many ways since my last visit 2 or 3 years ago! Now, it has modern restrooms, viewing platform, and floating decks. The grounds are well maintained for the most part. The pathway to the quarry's lake is graded and smooth. The atmosphere is welcoming and care-free. I use to come here to photograph bikini models, but stopped when a park custodian got rude and threatening toward me as it was at closing time. Now, I'd recommend to singles, couples, and families. But two negatives I'm compelled to mention: 1) the trashbins were overflowing with refuse surrounding them on the ground. 2) I found poison ivy growing around the large sitting stones between the path and the lake. Anyone sitting on them would most likely come into contact with the Poison Ivy.

This place was a beautiful surprise for me. I needed time alone in nature. Only been on this area a short time. Googled looking for a place to swim in clean H2O. It's just south of Knoxville. I zigzagged thru an older neighborhood and there it was. No parking fee. Great docks for jumping off or just sitting in the sun. Huge dock out in the center. Water was crystal clear with a bluish-green color. You can rent paddle boards and rafts. Very unique bathrooms structures with tall pointed open cone on top. Grated Metal at the bottom with huge tall Metal walls. They are very hot on exterior side but it was cool on the inside. Guess with breeze coming in the bottom and heat always rising & exiting out the top, it stays nice inside. I thought the way they were built was very cool!! Think I can add photos.

Absolutely fabulous and a must do!! The city has made stunning improvements with floating docks, free life jackets and paddle board rentals. Bring a good lunch, you will get hungry and they don't sell anything but chips and drinks! Gorgeous, clear water that leaves you skin feeling AMAZING 😍.

Great swimming/paddling spot! Clear, clean water, friendly park attendants, and a great overall vibe. They have independently floating docks on the water for anyone looking for a little privacy and space. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a good time on a hot day!
