(from Google)Very nice beach and RV Park
It was all good until the "see no ums" began biting me, other wise the beach is small but not crowded during this time of the season July - Sept. Don't know what to expect after that. I would not advise getting in the water. It's obviously polluted from the local factories.
I’m told there is better and maybe there is, but for a beach with an average of 8 people on it will take take this any day. Solitude and quiet until someone brings a baby but oh well. All good things.
MacDill offers a beautiful beach, privacy and absolute protection for all those who enter their base. The marina offers boat rentals which are very inexpensive and all they require you to do is to take an online boating safety course (which is well worth effort for the small price you pay to go boating). Clean facilities, great people, staff and of course visitors. There's a gold course and one can just enjoy a slow ride around the entire base as there's much to see and great spots to take pics.
Went to the Dog section of the beach. It was decent sized ,but the rails they use to block off the dog beach from the public beach had huge gaps which allowed my small dog to go through. The public beach seemed nice. They had sand volleyball courts and a little shelter. The parking is right next to the boat launch and rental facility.
