(from Google)This camp location mimics the views and the feel of being deep in the wilderness jungles of the Florida Everglades. No worries tho! There are no poisonous snakes and the alligators are domicile. If that flying spinner isn't a helicopter, then you can bet your bottom dollar its an insect. Everything you could possibly want or need is less than 2 miles from the exit of this camp. Public showers and restrooms. Full electric, water and septic hookup are very reasonably priced by the county. The staff working here are helpful and courteous. I like this place.
This is a county campground not a hotel. We were fortunate to find a spot for the weekend. Price was only $23 per night for full RV hookup. There were a lot of camping spots. Campers can stay 150 days. Our spot was G12. It was a long walk from the dumpsters, dog park and bath house. The bath house was not clean. Supposed to be cleaned at 9 am but no one came (Sun) The kayaking area was full of lily pads. There were a lot of walking paths. Most annoying was 10 triple speed bumps to get in and out of the park. There were picnic tables and a small playground. Everyone was friendly. Lots of dogs. Mary in the office was very sweet, Diane in the office not so much.
Beautiful park and the paved trails giving access for wildlife viewing is amazing. The laundry room is appreciated. However, the bathhouses are in desperate need of renovation, specifically the showers. I was there camping for a week and I was not able to shower once because the water was cold. Also the shower heads, in the woman's bathroom anyway, were completely inadequate. Toilet areas were kept very clean but showers were not. This area needs fixed... Proper plumbing, hot water, new shower heads, non moldy curtains, and paint. Paying campers should be able to access this basic necessity and not everyone has showers in their RV. What about tenters? We hope to be able to stay here again someday and enjoy the area.
Full hooks for a great price! Wifi, laundry, showers, and toilets on site. Located in vicinity of a beautiful state park with a nice walking trail. We even saw gators!!
It is not a hotel. It is a recreational spot to park campers and RVs or tents. It is also a beautiful natural preserve with alligators, otters and various species of fish birds and lizards. Great paved trail so accessible on wheels or on foot. Nice place to park and enjoy a picnic. Don't feed the wildlife!
