I want to start by saying that overall I do love the dog we ended up getting, and he has been a good dog. The staff and store itself also appeared clean and professional when we arrived. However, the entire process felt extremely misleading and blindsiding financially, and I wish there had been much more transparency from the beginning. Before going in, I specifically called this Petland location to ask about adoptions and available dogs. The woman on the phone confirmed they had dogs available, but she failed to explain important details about the process beforehand. We scheduled an appointment and were told to come in to spend time with the dog we were interested in, which seemed normal at first. When we arrived, the store looked clean and organized, and the dogs were displayed in glass enclosures. However, I quickly realized this was nothing like the type of adoption experience I was used to. Coming from California, adoptions are usually low-cost or focused more on giving animals homes rather than financing expensive bred puppies. What upset me most was how little information was explained ahead of time. Nobody mentioned over the phone that there would be a deposit required, a credit check process, financing discussions, or that the appointment itself would take around THREE HOURS just to complete paperwork and discuss everything. Had I known all of this beforehand, I would have appreciated the honesty and been more financially prepared. After already getting emotionally attached to the dog, we then found out the pricing was over $2,000. We ended up putting around $200 down and had to go through my husband’s credit for approval. While I understand wanting pets to go to responsible homes, the lack of upfront communication made the entire situation feel overwhelming and honestly stressful. That being said, it has now been a year since we brought him home, and we still have him and absolutely love him. He has become part of our family, and this review is not about regretting him at all. My issue is mainly with the transparency of the process and how financially blindsided we felt during the experience. Customers deserve clear information upfront regarding pricing, deposits, financing, credit checks, and the time commitment involved before they walk in expecting a normal adoption experience. I believe Petland should do a much better job explaining these details both on the website and during the initial phone call so families are not caught off guard financially or emotionally. By the way the dog actually came with a kennel to take home also included more accessories for your pet some items you pay extra or put it towards the credit they give you for your pet which is based off your credit I assume .

They have the best employees working here. They are so kind and willing to help and listen to what your needs are. Even if your not quite ready to get a dog they do have rabbits most times. They keep the kennels clean and same with the sitting areas. They usually have a good mix of small and large puppies which are all looking for a good homes. So, please go check them out even if it's to stop by and give a puppy some love.

The entire experience was wonderful!! They give you plenty of alone time to actually bond with the puppies. Everyone that worked there was very kind, but Rochelle helped me with the process which was seamless! Even though they were extremely busy, she always acknowledged me and apologized for any waits. They also have the most beautiful puppies there!

We had an absolutely amazing experience at Petland, and it was all thanks to Kaniya. From the moment we walked in, she was kind, patient, and incredibly knowledgeable. She took the time to really understand what we were looking for and made sure we felt comfortable and confident every step of the way and now we have the perfect addition to our family.
