(from Google)We always stop here on our way from Phoenix to California. A healthy, high-quality restaurant with fresh products — a great option instead of stopping at large chains that aren’t good for your health. The place is beautiful, surrounded by nature. Their dates and date shakes are 100% recommended.
Date shakes were too sweet and they were $9 for a 12oz cup!! Way overpriced for vanilla ice cream with some dates in it. I’d skip it. If you MUST go, grab a water cup and a spoon and you can split the milk shake with someone else. Do it. You won’t finish the whole thing I promise. Unless you have a sweet tooth.
Date ice cream was amazing and lots of date gifts and snacks. Didn't do the tour unfortunately. The woman working in the gift shop was so friendly and nice. She gave us the history of the date farm and information on the products in the shop. It's a great place to stop for a half hour if you're just passing through, but if you live in the area you HAVE TO VISIT! You'll be glad you did!
Unfortunately we didn't get to go on a tour, but they have a very informative video that plays in the restaurant that you can watch that tells you all about the process of dates from start to finish and you can understand why they're so expensive! We experienced a bacon and date shake and it's the best thing I've ever had in my life!
So much fun and educational. The process of growing dates is amazing! The grounds are nice with lots of outdoor seating. Inside they sell dates, of course, and date shakes...DELICIOUS! We actually went back a couple days later and got a bacon date shake. Yum!! Although we didn't eat, they offered sandwiches, and salads, I believe. We will go back next year for sure...at least once.
