(from Google)Great for kids and out of shape parents, too! The trail was clean, flat, well maintained, and had lots of naturally shaded spots. We saw a cool little lizard and butterflies. At one point we heard a snake, but it didn't attack and we moved away from it. It was fun to walk!
This trail is awesome. Beautiful scenery and not difficult to navigate. Went earlier before spring most likely looks even better now. If you have free time I’d recommend this to anyone.
The trail is easy to follow. The beginning is flat but if you decide to branch off on to the winery trail it becomes steep but doable. The only time we questioned the trail direction was in a flat meadow area were the trail branches off into two. Just stay to the right. After the meadow the winery is right over the hill and also a spectacular view.
Gorgeous hike through basalt rocks, scrubby desert plants ,and flowers, sweet Sage and a few Ponderosa Pine! This trail also has a small river that you can stop and wash your face in, too swift to swim though. 😎 saw a family with small kids, so easy enough for children.
A family friendly walking trail that can also offer more for those that like a little climb. This trailhead is somewhat suspect as you pull in, several spots have shattered glass from break-ins. So caution with your belongings. The trail itself is well maintained. The main trail is fully graveled/packed gravel as well as flat. Great for youngsters or a casual walk. If you hit it during hot the hot hours of the summer you will not fond shade. Its a bit barren so bring you water. The Cowiche creek runs parallel with trail and you can find occasional spots that lead you to the creek edge. These little creek coves offer some refuge from the summer heat...and a chance to dip your toes! I can't wait to try this in the fall. Update: I now use this trail regularly for running. My appreciation for this set of trails has grown a bunch.
