(from Google)I have two fur babies and recently my grand pup moved in. My oldest pup has been away to boot camp but needs reinforcement on good behaviors and corrections. She is the teacher and we wanted to find a trainer that would help us with positive reinforcement. Someone who treats our pups as the family they are without making them unsure and keeping our dogs trust. Ami is that trainer, she is wise patient and aware. I just a few sessions we have gained a ton of Confidence in correcting them and teaching them what we need from them. We explore new approaches together and the dogs love her too!
Ami has been incredibly helpful in training my nervous puppy. My sweet Goldendoodle was afraid to walk on the street after an unpleasant encounter with a garbage truck. With Ami’s help, he has gone from trembling and refusing to leave the house to confidently walking in the neighborhood and other settings. Ami has taught me how to read my dog’s cues and respect his needs in order to help him feel secure and thrive in training. I have worked with other trainers and done a lot of self teaching, but working with Ami has, by far, been the most effective training tool for my puppy. Ami is always accommodating, flexible and just a text away, and her rates are very reasonable.
Ami has been an amazing trainer for us and our shar pei. We had been struggling with his reactivity issues, but Ami helped us understand the root of his behavior and adjust our training strategies to match it. She also gave us the confidence to take our dog to new environments and work on socializing him with other dogs. We now have to redefine our goals for his training because he has already progressed more than we imagined possible with Ami's help.
Ami has been amazing with both of my pups, and they are always excited to see her coming to the door! She has succeeded with my high-energy and ridiculously independent Welsh Terrier 2yo using a purely positive, reward-based model, something I didn’t think possible, given how untrainable he seemed most of the time. (Cute but mischevious Oliver pictured below) She communicates wonderfully and pics from each outing often bring a huge smile to my face. I can’t recommend her highly enough!
Our dog had some behavioral issues on walks (fear of people and dogs on walks that looked like aggression). We had been working on these issues with other trainers for years and never made much progress. We have seen more progress with Ami than we could have imagined. She has helped us as much as she has helped our dog. Having a reactive dog is draining and Ami has been patient, kind, and effective. (This is my fav pic that Ami has sent us of my happy dog munchin' on some yummy treats)
