(from Google)**READ IF YOUR PET IS JAUNDICED/YELLOW** I had a very quick experience with them and I felt the staff was very kind and supportive. The building was nice. However, I’m taking the time to write this PSA that if your animal is jaundiced, it’s a medical emergency and they should begin treatment ASAP. This was the first facility I called in a panic later at night and they were super helpful on the phone and prompted me to come in and get his vitals and some eyes on him for free essentially, by a tech. I was under the impression if a provider were to “set eyes” on him it would result in a fee. Because my animal was vitally stable (save for a temp of over 103, which I was told there was the high end of normal for cats but by other providers, not and actually a fever), I asked the tech if it was their animal, would they want that animal to stay? In their opinion, they said they’d be fine with keeping the original early morning appointment I had made previously with Banfield, and that I could take him home. When I got to Banfield in the morning, that vet, along with the opinion from a quick convo with a family member’s vet friend, said it was a situation where my animal was very sick and treatment was necessary as soon as possible, by the presence of the jaundice alone. I know I should’ve listened to my gut and I don’t fault any staff member for using theirs or their experience to offer that initial advice. But I think it’s important to share these experiences especially if you’re unfamiliar and afraid for your animal, who cannot tell you the pain or shape they are in. My baby is in the ICU now at AERC in Oakdale and I was told by two vets prognosis is 50-50. Liver stuff is no joke, so take your yellowing pets to the hospital ASAP for fluids and diagnostics, do not delay treatment!! I wasn’t sure if this was a facility that would eventually be able to handle the needs that my animal has now in his condition, so I’m ultimately recommending AERC or the U for this specific situation.
I previously left a not so good review of Como Animal Hospital, but I had a change of heart after a very nice note and thoughtful words from the staff. Thank you for that. Losing Tweetie and then Inkie have been horrible times, just as anybody knows who has also lost a beloved pet. My birds come before anything else in my life, as they are so special to me. I'd also like to thank the nice lady working the desk the night I was there, she was a very nice improvement from my previous experience with the front desk last February. She tried to accommodate everybody in the waiting room and I was really impressed by that. Thank you.
Como Park was amazing! I brought my sick hamster to the emergency vet a couple of weeks ago. It was a bit of a wait (5 hours or so...) but everyone here was very kind and understanding during that whole time and they reassured me that he was in good hands. They were very upfront with pricing, which was a little steep, but not many vets take exotics so that is to be expected - and it is a 24/7 emergency clinic. My hamster unfortunately passed a week later, but I brought him back to be cremated. The price was fair for that and even included a paw print clay memoriam with it! I thought that was a super kind gesture and it meant a lot to me. Again, the staff was extremely patient and accommodating during this stressful time. I didn't catch the receptionists name, but I really appreciated her kindness in these interactions. I highly recommended this place for small pocket pet exotics. I plan to bring all my future hamsters here going forward!
They are SO sweet and kind here! We went in for emergency care, not a routine visit. When you walk in, someone comes out and takes your furbaby on the back to check vitals and make sure they're stable while you fill out the paperwork. Then, if stable, they bring them back out to wait to be put in a room. When you meet with the tech and st they'll probably go back to get the treatment you approve. So they have a system, and even tho I'm not sure I like my baby being away from me, it works. He stayed there for 3 days but we got to visit any time we wanted, and they were always really kind when we visited and called. My Loki was critical, and they saved his life! ♥️ It's an emergency clinic, so it'll be spendy, but not as spendy as the AERC. Parking is a big free parking lot and was pretty open that night. There's even a loop by the front door to drop someone off if you want.
They truly saved my cat. The care was reasonably priced, and the team went above and beyond to help us during a very stressful time. Every person we interacted with was kind, compassionate, and incredibly helpful. There’s even good coffee available, which was a small but comforting touch during long visits. They allowed me to visit my cat while he was hospitalized and provided excellent care, explaining everything in a way that was easy for me to understand. I had taken my cat to a different hospital before coming here, and the difference in both service and quality of care was drastic. If you are debating which hospital to trust with your loved one, I cannot recommend this place enough.
