Ballyhoos

Ballyhoos is a great spot in Virginia Beach with an awesome environment and a really fun vibe. It’s a lively bar with friendly, helpful staff who make you feel welcome right away. It’s also a great place to host events, and it works well for all different types of groups. They have live music, plus both indoor and outdoor seating, which makes it perfect year-round. Whether you’re stopping in for a drink, music, or a group gathering, Ballyhoos is always a good time. Highly recommend!

We have used Ballyhoos for the last three years for our end of season banquet. I have appreciated their willingness to accommodate us as our group ranges in age from ages 4 to 64. We always have a great time. Planning is easy and the catering menu has many choices. Our event is centered around children so we always choose kid favorites for our buffet but it always comes out fresh and delicious. We look forward to continuing having our event here in the future. 7/26/25 - Came here with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday. They have lots of drink specialties options. I just got a regular drink though. They had a live band playing when we went. I was quite shocked how this place wasn't busier. The place is huge inside and outside. They have cornhole, foosball table ping pong table, jenga all outside. They do have all the doors open, but have large fans to help cool the area down inside. It was a great time and again shocked it wasn't busier.

A place to go for a quick drink or to catch up with friends or family! The restaurant is a very open concept, so lots of noise, it’s pretty hot, and there are lots of flies everywhere. They should get those table propeller things to ward off the flies! The food is okay. I was happy with my orange crush and the grilled avocado. Fried pickles, French fries, and mozzarella bites fell short for me. They all kind of taste the same? But not bad! Live music but not the best speakers/sound system. Funnel cake fries are good.

Okay so I give this place 4 stars because my server was new but she was very cute and attentive. The flounder bites were very good, I also ordered the blackened salmon and broccoli. Broccoli could have been a tad softer but the salmon was pretty good and a good portioned size! Im happy i opted for the “blackened” option, because they seem to lightly season the food. The blackened option has more flavor. My son tore his food up - Oh, did I mention it’s kid friendly ??? Aha no, but it is! Go during the day! Only thing I’d say is I received the check and it told me the price! I give my card and it comes back w an additional service fee . That was off putting ….. Felt a bit discriminating or singled out, especially since I was tipping cash. While it may not have been… I’d say put the service fee on the original receipt and not on the second receipt AFTER the fact. That part wasn’t a good feeling, wasn’t sure how to feel about that … Aside from that their prices are reasonable and they had a nice guy performing there. Here are some photos
