(from Google)We were staying in Reno and after spending the morning out at Pyramid Lake, we were looking for a lunch spot with a great atmosphere and a view to match. Water Bar exceeded expectations from the moment we arrived. The parking lot was fairly busy, but we still found a spot without much trouble. The building itself immediately catches your eye with its upscale marina vibe and waterfront setting. It feels like the kind of place you'd expect to find in a much larger resort town. We were greeted right away and offered a choice of indoor or outdoor seating. If the weather is nice, do yourself a favor and sit outside. The view is simply outstanding. The patio overlooks the marina, where birds gather along the docks, while the snow-capped Sierra Nevada Mountains provide a stunning backdrop across the water. It's the kind of setting that makes you slow down, relax, and enjoy the moment. Honestly, the view alone is worth the visit. Service was equally impressive. Our server was friendly, professional, and knew the menu and cocktail list inside and out. He recommended the Prickly Pear Margarita, and it was fantastic—refreshing, colorful, made with quality tequila, and definitely a generous pour. We weren't looking for a large meal, so we decided to share a few appetizers. We ordered the garlic bread, lobster deviled eggs, and coconut shrimp. Before ordering the shrimp, I specifically asked whether they were made in-house or just another frozen version that many restaurants serve. The server explained they hand-bread them right there in the restaurant, and after the first bite it was obvious. These were large, perfectly cooked shrimp with a crisp coconut coating and excellent flavor. They were easily the standout item of the meal and some of the best coconut shrimp I've had in quite a while. The lobster deviled eggs were excellent as well, and the garlic bread was a perfect starter. What impressed me most about Water Bar was the combination of breathtaking views, attentive service, and quality food. Plenty of restaurants have one or two of those things. It's rare to find a place that delivers all three at such a high level. The prices are a little higher than average, but completely reasonable for the experience you're getting. Between the waterfront location, the atmosphere, the service, and the food quality, it felt like money well spent. I've eaten at a lot of waterfront restaurants over the years, and Water Bar is one I'd gladly return to. The view is outstanding, the staff genuinely seems to care, and those coconut shrimp alone are worth ordering again. We'll definitely be back.
Beautiful waterside bar and restaurant. Cocktails were very yummy! The glint off the water was too intense for the water-side tables, so we ate dinner inside. Those tables would be terrific earlier in the day.
Spending the night in Sparks, NV and we found ourselves within walking distance of the Sparks Water Bar. We got there during happy hour which has great specials on their drinks and food menu in the bar area. Entertainment was just setting up during our dinner. The food was great and service was even better. Very attentive staff and food was delivered quick yet we didn’t feel rushed. Amazing outside deck for the summer time must be a happening place.
I had never been to this Water Bar before but I have past it while walking the Marina many times. I went on a first date here to the Water Bar and let me tell you, it was stellar!!! The service, bartender and server were all so fantastic, very personable and attentive. Nice light atmosphere, easy to talk and beautiful scenery. Very happy overall with the establishment. The food, wowee!!! I got the Chicken Cobb Salad and it was excellent! Chicken was cooked perfectly with wonderful seasonings that had me going back for bite after bite. The dressing was perfect in-house made and just the right amount if dressing on the salad. Not just a boring iceberg salad, but a spring mix with lots of yummy toppings! Also, got the lobster deviled eggs which were equally amazing! I will surely be back again. Thank you so much for having us on this special day and for treating us like VERY valued customers. So happy overall with absolutely everything!
Personally, I enjoyed the appetizers more than the main dishes. The atmosphere was nice, but the food was just okay. The lobster and shrimp bisque tasted more like a cheesy soup and was salty, and the filet mignon steak was a bit tough. The service was good and the restaurant had a nice vibe, but the food was a bit disappointing.
