I was there December 13th 2025. This park is beautiful and peaceful. I took the longest path to reach the "Mystic Tree," an enormous and magnificent tree in its own way. I'm glad I did because I even saw a deer! It was a magical walk...

I really enjoyed my walk here. If you go early in the morning there are so many deer walking along the path. I went around 930am. There is so e construction going on right now which took away from nature and peaceful scenery around the area. But it's only in that small area. :)

Nice trailhead for walk, jogging, biking, or hiking. The trail head has two porta potties, a tool kit for bikes, and a water fountain. At the start is the main paved smooth flat path for bikes, walkers, and for jogging. It also has a rough hiking trail to one side that is scenic along cliffs. This rough trail is also used by mountain bikes. This trailhead has a parking lot with plenty of slots and a park with benches to relax.

We loved this trail to come back again to Lady Bird Johnson Park. This time we started the trail from the Los Patios end. The other day we started from the other end. Love that this is a mostly shady easy, paved path with a few stretches of full sun. During the day the lippia/frogfruit were attracting a lot of butterflies. With the rain yesterday, areas that were dry the other day are now gushing rivers. We even spotted an egret/heron. I was such in a rush to head back that I almost missed the doe and her fawns. I was saying earlier that a sighting would make this trail awesome! No photo of them though because they quickly ran away. We finished our walk before the gates closed and also right before the sky opened and rained! Highly recommended!
