West Ashley Greenway (East Coast Greenway)

Lovely trail, one part is closed off due to water line repair, east enough to go around. It leads you straight to another park in the other end. Very shaded and smooth pavement!

Ran 18 miles on this trail the other day. To get to the other end of the trail on the other side of folly road near the shopping center wasn’t worth it, crossing the road was no easy feat when it’s not as pedestrian friendly as some other cities. Hope they continue to expand this trail and build more greenways across the lowcountry.

The West Ashley Greenway is a nice paved or sometimes gravel path for walking, running, bicycling. From the Cambria Hotel to the end of the trail on by McLeod Mill Rd, it’s about 8.5 miles.

It's a beautiful walking trail! I wish they had more emergency call lights/centers in case of an emergency, but otherwise, this is a true gem of Charleston! Great for biking & walking for all ages!

I went here to take my new bike for a ride and this park did not disappoint! It was a little difficult to figure out to park, but I eventually figured it out. I parked behind the TCBY (by the earthfare plaza) and there are lots of spots there. Along the way I saw a couple of other places to park, most notably at the other end of the trail. This is a pretty flat and easy ride, nice wide path with plenty of room to pass if needed. A portion of the trail is gravel which for me was a nice change of pace. The views where the gravel starts are pretty nice with lots of wildlife. Riding through the neighborhoods is really nice as the trail runs through backyards. If you are with kids be aware that you cross many streets, not heavy traffic streets, but streets nonetheless. The drivers seemed to be aware of the trail and a few stopped to let me go, which was very nice. From where I started the trail (by the earthfare plaza) to the other end and back was a little over 15 miles. Overall I really enjoyed this trail and definitely will be going back! Very happy this park is here!
