Aspiration Trail Trailhead

Fun run up and around. Lots of different trails, love the beautiful rocks people made.

Great hike! Not too difficult, and there are a few different routes you can take that are all so adorably decorated with peoples’ painted rocks! My dog loved it too. We went at sunset and didn’t see anyone else, but it seems like a very family friendly trail, so during the day you’re likely to see more people. There’s a steeper hike to the flag, and you don’t HAVE to do that part, but the views are certainly worth it.

Ready for a little adventure? The main trailhead for Aspiration Trail is located near 3909 Pioneer Road—just park by the Storage place or across the street by the church. From there, follow the paved walking path and look for the sign that says “Aspiration Trail.” You’ll walk between two storage facilities and through a culvert under the freeway (don’t worry—it’s more fun than it sounds!). Once you’re on the trail, you’ll find a mix of scenic pathways and creative rock arrangements scattered throughout the area. Keep an eye out for hidden gems—and maybe even a surprise or two. Where’s Waldo? You just might spot him if you’re paying attention!

This place is a MUST if in southern Utah. I'd recommend painting and bridging your rock or many rocks to leave. Very inspiring to see all the art left behind by others. The trail seems to go on and on! It is NOT shaded! It can get VERY hot if the temp is above 80 degrees. So maybe a cloudy day would be good. Be sure to bring water if you plan to stay to view all the rocks. Again, very cool!

One of my favorite hikes in St. George. Great up hill climb while also engaging because of all the painted rocks. We added some Minecraft Blocks last time we were there.
