The Sandbar

Visiting from Florida and Joe was fantastic! The bar reminds me of our beach bars back home (minus the beach of course). Joe was lively, friendly, and personable. We went mid afternoon on a Saturday and the bar wasn’t too crowded. Drinks were great and you can’t beat the price. Very happy that I got to experience this place and that we got to meet Joe.

The Sandbar is one of those places that will always be iconic in Lawrence. Yes, every bar can be a lot of fun.. HOWEVER, Sandbar is an experience. It is a party every night. They have fantastic drinks, with fun toys, and lights. The music is loud! All kinds of tunes to get you moving and singing. Extremely colorful, with pictures all over the walls. Years and years of memories. The people are a joy. A destination stop!

Stopped by Massassachusetts Street for food and drinks. We started off at Sand Bar and then got a Shark Attack. They have some sort of Red Shot that goes into the Shark and then you pour it into the blue limeade. Cool gimmick for sure. Met some cool people and the bartender was cool too.

This is a wonderful place. If you enjoy small bars with a diverse crowd you'll love this place. The bartender went well beyond others to make me feel at home. I had a blast and will remember my time here. GREAT PLACE! 12/1/22 - I just visited the Sand Bar today. Wow this is such a wonderful place. Great people working the bar, great clientele. Stephanie Swan was an awesome bartender. She made my day! Love the beads! Great prices $5 for a Rum runner. Come on Sundays!!! Great times! On Wednesdays you can dance to the beats with Charlie! She likes to dance! Love the shark attack experience. Go Chiefs!!
