Genesee Trail Head

Only about a 45 min drive from the city center to this beautiful place in nature! Such a great view, it took us only about 20min to get up there, parking spot is available at the start of the trail. It’s even worth going to during a layover at the Denver airport

Beautiful trail - great views and many route options! We hiked part of the bison trail and the rest of the Genesee mountain trail. Kid friendly!

Went during rare conditions, light snow/rain mix + heavy fog. Pics included. As someone who lived at sea level just 2 weeks prior to hiking this trail, as well as a heart condition, plus being out of shape, I can say that it was difficult. I probably should have turned around sooner as i was getting dizzy and had eye artifacts near the top. I'm stubborn, however, which is dangerous, but I made it! I thought it was worth it. I took breaks when needed to alleviate these symptoms. I also did not go alone. Looking forward to doing more stuff like this.
