Cape Fear River Trail parking

Cant believe I’ve never visited this park before! Cape fear River Trail is paved, with emergency box, garbage cans, nice shade along the way. It even has a story book trail for kiddos to read along. Great playground and lots of picnic tables to sit and enjoy some family time! Can’t wait to explore the nature trails!

Connects this park with another park. 4 mile paved (no motor vehicles ) trail to a large soccer field park owned by Fayetteville. The trail travels along the Cape fear River. There are two wooden bridges you have to cross. Excellent bicycle trail.

Despite being a river trail, it's almost impossible to see the river through the trees. What you do get is a safe, shady, well paved place to run or bike. I haven't done the full length yet. It does get hilly after about 3 miles from the parking area. During nice weather, the parking may fill up. I had no problem parking early on a Saturday morning but when I was leaving there were only a few spots open.

Long trail, I think 7 miles, and that's just for 1 route. There are many routes. At least 4 different routes, which is amazing because you can walk, run, bike or skateboard your way through. I ran the main path as I missed the sign that I wanted to run. That sign was on the right-hand side close to the yellow metal bicycles that are displayed as artwork Additionally, there's a story walk for small kids. They can get exercise and read at the same time. I don't have children, but I'm sure this makes for a great bonding experience. I loved this park. It was my first visit outside Fort Bragg. I can't believe I didn't explore this place more several years back. Running has really changed my perspective as I want to explore more and more places. 5 stars to this place

We went out for a walk and we seen this place so decide as a family to get outdoors. Great choice since we love nature. You can bike as well beautiful trail not long really. The kids love the train that passed thru and they blew their horn, it made them happy. There's also a little center with live critters like snakes, turttles, roaches, frogs and etc. There's also a park for the little ones to play. It was beautiful there. It is small compare to other trails that I have been too, but it worked out perfect since we had a baby and a 2 yr. old that got tired after a bit. Will return again..
