Pet Supplies Plus San Antonio - San Pedro

This pet shop has a decent balance of variety and service. I went in for basic dog food and ended up asking about health supplements too. The staff was helpful and didn’t push expensive options unnecessarily. One bag of food had a small tear in the packaging, and they replaced it right away. The store gets a bit busy in the evening, which can make movement inside slightly difficult, but overall it’s manageable. I left feeling like I got what I needed without any complications.

We have been coming to this store for the past at least 7 years even before the rescue was established we've always been treated with kindness and always been treated with respect and given the best of deals especially when we opened up the Rescue all the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful and we appreciate everything. Found this store to find a certain type of fish food. I saw they had animals and decided to check out the fish area, I came across some Corydora fish with no fins that were kept with a lot of Glofish that were nipping at their fins. I felt so bad and decided to take one finless corydora home. I was hoping for the best for the corydora but it only survived for 3 weeks. Corydoras should not be kept with fin nippers like Glofish. Employees should know which fish should be kept together and not be kept together.

This review is regarding the cat supply section of Pet Supplies Plus. This was my first visit into any Pet Supplies store. I only saw one worker but they weren't busy. The aisles are very long and wide. I saw wet cat food brands that I haven't seen elsewhere. They carry both the cat litter and dry cat food I prefer to buy (which aren't common, so I was impressed). They had a lot more cat tree options than I've ever seen at Petco or PetSmart. The prices were good and there were plenty of sales going on during this visit. I signed up for the free rewards program. I noticed they had a small selection of fish and small animals like hamsters. The dog supplies seemed to take up about half the store, but I didn't look at any of the dog stuff. I did see a good selection of cat toys and cat hygiene like wipes, shampoo, nail clippers, etc
