(from Google)The Interstate Farmington Canal Greenway (trail) is a paved walkway meandering through country and urban settings. It is a paved surface with memorial benches scattered the length of it. Level and paved, it is an easy trail to walk. My best 4 legged friend and I walk it often.
Such a good trail to walk. Safe, quite and peaceful
It’s a great trail located in Cheshire which provides a great and enjoyable trail for running, walking, and cycling and many other activities. The white bridges and fall foliage are a great visual experience as well. The trail is almost completely flat with a few exceptions of minor cracks throughout the pavement.
Well maintained mostly paved trail that meandered next to or near the Farmington River. We brought our bikes, and on our crisp fall day the trail itself was super nice. All areas that crossed roads had good signage with crosswalks and some alert signals. Many people were out with strollers and runners. Lots of side areas with bench seats to stop at, and enjoy the sound of the water passing by
New section of the Canal. 11.17.18🍁The new section of Cheshire trail is great. We decide to visit today, after the first snow-day. The mile-long section goes from West Main Street to Cornwall Avenue to the Main Street. 🌲Along with foliage and a paved walking path, the trail include a two-stall bathroom facility, a 12-car parking lot, a bike repair station with tools, and a water fountain. There is also benches and small picnic tables scattered around the area. 🌲The new section also include three butterfly gardens. One of the gardens is dedicated to Michaela Petit, who was killed in the 2007 home invasion. 🌲Several local nonprofits and businesses, predominately the Cheshire West Community Butterfly Gardens organization, have come together to adopt the space. Volunteers will help maintain it in future years. 🍁
