Top Notch Pet Resort

Our boy goes to daycare once a week for socialization and he loves it. They care for him greatly. We had a one off situation with him this past Summer and they handled it with care and professionalism. He also goes every few months for grooming and does great as well.

This was our second boarding facility in Modesto- and overall it was decent! Some things I wish that would have been done differently: I wish we would’ve been made aware over the phone, at the time of booking, that they treat Sunday rates very differently from the rest of the week. Their boarding rate is not for a 24 hour period like we are traditionally used too. I was taken aback when they told us the price at check out ($130) After leaving, I did review the pricing guide online and noticed how Sunday was excluded. Again, my fault for not reading every single little line- BUT, a little price transparency on the phone as a first time booker would have been appreciated. I think the evaluation fee is silly and a way for them to get money out of you, it’s truly a “pay-to-play” and we’ve never had this fee at another facility. Another thing that wasn’t ideal, was when we called to check on our pup and they gave a less than exciting report of how he was doing in his play group. As an already anxious dog mom, this hurt my heart and I couldn’t shake the words the receptionist used over the phone- all night long. And we couldn’t even pick him up early on Sunday. Which I definitely would’ve done if I could have. I just wish she would’ve used different words. And because of their Sunday hours, I couldn’t put my mind at rest by calling Sunday morning, I had to wait until 2:00pm.. I recognize these are small things, but it put me in an anxious uneasy head space overnight. Not exactly how you want to feel when boarding your pet. Overall, check in and check out went smoothly and Elvis seemed okay when we picked him up. It was fun to see him at the fence playing! We would use them again for Daycare services, but as weekend visitors to the area with the extra Sunday charge and the late pickup hours, we will probably stick to daycare on Saturday moving forward and our other facility for overnight stays.

Our Cane Corso boarded at Top Notch kennels for 16 days. This place is a clean facility and my dog was in love with staff. Staff kept us updated while we were out of state, he had a daily report card, he was groomed before we picked him up, he had playtime and looked leaner when we picked him up. He was a happy boy and the staff genuinely showed the love and care for my dog. We trust the staff and this place so much that We will continue to come here. Thank you Top notch you lived up to your name 😊

My dogs love this place! They know where they’re going right when we get to the overpass. They always have a great time and are watched over diligently. While we were away in Europe, one of our dogs was stung by a bee and they found out he was allergic. They handled everything and saved his life while we were asleep and had no idea anything was going on. They really care about our pets as if they are their own.

I started bringing my Maggie here as soon as she was fully vaccinated, so about 4-5 months, to help her socialize, and she absolutely loves it. They group the dogs according to size and temperament and watch them closely. The staff is always happy to see her, she's like Norm walking into Cheers 😂 They have healthy meals and treats, or you can pack their lunch. She comes home EXHAUSTED which is the best part!!
