Waneka Lake Park

Wanaca Lake is wonderful! There is a very accessible walk around the small lake with a lovely park with picnic shelter and bathrooms with fishing dock. On the other side of the lake, there is a activity center on the weekends. Around the entire lake is Activity stations for fitness. And over by the park, there is a pickle ball court. Plenty of parking very clean and absolutely wonderful.

The park covers an area of approximately 59 hectares. It has a 1.2 mile-long trail for walking,running and cycling. The park is home to various bird species and plants, making it very beautiful. There is a children's playground, picnic area and outdoor fitness area. It is a great place to spend quality time.

Nice comfortable small lake almost in the middle of Lafayette, pretty cool, a bit pity is the boat house only open on Friday to Sunday.

Great park with lots of activities! Small lake with boating options. We chose to pilot the pelican. 1.2 mile loop around the lake with trails that connect to bigger trail systems. We walk our dog here a lot.

This was a great find on search of a local park before my flight. I was thinking Erie Lake, bit wanted a change of venue. This place is great! 2 km walk around the lake. Lots of pokestops! Playground for the kids. Disc golf course for the bigger kids. Most of the walk will be in the sun unless going early morning or towards sunset. So bring sunscreen. But, pretty neat place for some morning coffee and even a chat with a lovely stranger.
