The Local Draught House

I need to let you know about the experience I just had at The Local, because it was honestly unacceptable. I’m a local who regularly supports businesses on Central, so I walked in with a friend planning to play darts. He headed to the bathroom and I sat down. Immediately, one of your employees came up to me in an unnecessarily aggressive way and demanded to know if I was ordering anything. I told her my friend was using the bathroom, and she snapped back that “there’s a big sign on the door that it’s only for customers.” The attitude was completely uncalled for. She had no idea whether we were about to spend money—and we were. Her tone was rude, hostile, and made it very clear we weren’t welcome. She pushed us right back out the door. Management needs to be aware of this, because treating people like that is a quick way to lose customers.

Horrible honestly. A bar is a bar and if you want slow service to get your beer come here. They offered 50% off drinks up to $25 (which was later changed to $20) from 12pm to 9pm, so we showed up at 7:30pm to catch the NFL game and get some cheap drinks. It took over 20 minutes at the bar for someone to see us, and every time after it took almost as long. They didn't have the game on, and asked us to put it up for them, we did, and continued drinking. We had 4 beers and a shot a piece (8 beers and 2 shots total). Bill still came out to $55+. We asked about it and they said that they applied the discount, which doesn't make sense mathematically. [8x3 (for domestic draft)+ 10x2 (for standard shots) = $44+tax] Once we left, one of the bartenders came outside as we were leaving and harassed us about not leaving a tip. We told him that it didn't make sense and he said he messed up about the $25 discount vs the $20 and continued to get us to tip, when I handed him a dollar he said he didn't want that and gave it back. We would have cashed out for the discounted amount and stayed and spent double, but with the slow service and the not discounted drinks killed it. I normally tip very well on tabs, and have no problem paying full price on drinks, but to be advertised as half off and then not being that, plus the absolutely horribly slow service, and then being harassed about the tip, I can't personally recommend this place. If you are in the area, just walk a couple of blocks down the road to Fergs and drink there, they don't false advertise discounts and actually have the games on.

While this spot isn't my go-to vibe, it does provide a decent time. They have a good drink specials and a loyalty program. I can appreciate that they have a pool table and bar games. They also have Touch Tunes which can be good and bad. Service has always been very friendly and it has a very basic 'bar' atmosphere.

Monica and Goran are amazing! Both are accommodating, personable, and engaging. The bar was busy and they still engaged with me and provided stellar service! I’m highly disappointed in some of these low and negative comments from people about things that don’t apply to the service received. This bar has an amazing darker ambiance with dark wood accents. There are plenty of games to play from pinball to pool to darts to skeeball to basketball and more! Ask Goran or Monica for an old fashioned. This place has the proper cherries and orange peel and multiple flavors of bitters to make the OF’s unique! I will DEFINITELY be back because of the service I received. Additionally, know that the clientele is friendly, engaging and overall are cool AF! ❤️

The Cosmo cocktail was very sweet, but tolerable; however, I wouldn't necessarily order it again. The place is chill, but not really one to stay long in - it just depends on what you're looking for in town. The location is nice!
