Stuyvesant Park Dog Run

it’s a cute park and I like that it exists but i have a couple of complaints. I love to walk my dog here and recently the park has been closing way earlier than it should be. On here it says 11PM but the park employees told me 10 PM, with that in mind I am standing in front of the locked park door right now (9:15 PM) confused as to the parks actual hours. The second issue is the homelessness problem. I have no ill will towards the unhoused but the specific group that lingers in these parks is not safe. I’ve seen them injecting themselves and find needles occasionally. I’ve seen a woman fully naked bathing in the sprinklers. There is often a party with an unleashed pit bull that has followed me and my dog despite my warnings that my dog is not very friendly. You get my point. I hope that the park can change their hours on here at least, and will be donating if possible to maybe help with my other points.

We spent a month in the neighborhood and fell in love with the pups and people at this park! The only downside is the mosquitoes are pretty bad due to all the foliage and sprinklers along the outside.

My pup and I went here for the first time to go to a cavapoo meetup. This dog park is clean and gated. Plenty of space for my pup to run around and play with other doggos. We stayed for an hour or so and my pup had a blast given she’s knocked out on the couch right now. Glad the owners pick up after their doggos. We’ll def be back on the weekends!

Great dog park. Spacious and with a lot of benches to sit on.

Nice dog run, well behaved dogs! we like it better than Tompkins as it isn’t all sand/mud/dirt. Nice hose for dogs that like water and for rinsing off before you leave. Only flaw is that the middle brick area is very uneven and seems to be uncomfortable for the dogs to run on.
